I absolutely love airplanes – and I really love photography too. One of my favorite things about having multiple hobbies is that I can mix them together so nicely. I love walks in the park – and taking my camera makes those so much better. I love neat conventions and city trips – and a camera makes those better as well. The same can be said about airplanes. If I’m around those marvels of technology, I probably have my DSLR at my side as well.
The time has come around to submit my favorite aviation photos of the year to the Iowa DOT. They run an annual contest in various categories to promote aviation and airplane photography and provide something fun for aviation enthusiasts to do. Much like last year (where I won quite a few spots!), I submitted a couple photos this year as well.

I’m looking forward to seeing the results in a couple of months. I hope I can walk away with a couple different awards this year too!
