I love working with, and supporting, small businesses. Whether it be the local farmer’s market or a new wine start-up, I love small businesses. While big box retailers can be useful and helpful, how boring would our lives be if all we could eat was fast food and all we could shop at was the local chain big box store? Yeah, it’d be pretty boring, and it wouldn’t really represent the human experience at all.
I’m glad I had the chance to photograph the family from Laughing Lab Vineyard. A new winery in the area of Denver, IA, it’s an entirely family-owned business. Named after their adorable and energetic dog Oscar, Laughing Lab Vineyard even has their grapes growing right outside their home to ensure the best care.
